MUSIC THEORY

Theory Grades 1 - 5:

Learning music theory is like learning to navigate on a featureless musical ocean.

For anyone learning an instrument, a knowledge of theory makes music easier to understand, easier to read and play, more enjoyable to listen to.

Using Associated Board workbooks and guides, each student works at his or her own pace, asking the tutors for help when needed.

Exam entry can be arranged if requested.

If you are interested in becoming involved with the Theory Classes, please speak to the teacher, Shirley Wright, any Saturday that we are open.

Starter Theory:

For those students who are new to the world of music, we offer a Starter Theory class for the first term of learning your instrument. This class is intended to supplement your tuition class and is included free of charge.
